I was born in Portland, moved to Falmouth, and finally to Manchester as a child. My life was filled with dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, goldfish, sheep, and horses. My dad was a business man and had little time for interaction with the animals!! My mom and I had a blast creating sooo many wonderful memories with these wonderful creatures!
I attended UMA, my senior year in high school and attended UMF, following graduation from high school. I soon went to work as a buyer for a Hannaford affiliate, Progressive Distributors in Winthrop Me. I have a daughter, Morgan, who is a graduate of Bates College and obtained her Masters in Boston while employed with BOA. She is now living next door to me with a wonderful husband and my precious first granddaughter, Kaydence.
My first Golden was a Rescue, before my daughter was born. The years went by and I was in awe of this wonderful dog's love of my young daughter. My heart was sold on the breed!!! My mother was instrumental in my discussions of the proper ethics of breeding. Unfortunately by the time I found a line I wanted to breed on and had my first litter, she had just recently passed away.
I have been proud of what I have produced over the sixteen years I have raised pups in my home. I have pets, titled, and service dogs out there. Twelve years ago I stumbled across my "Heart Boy," Skidder. What a ride, with the most wonderful dog I have ever owned!!!! Skidder passed Sept. 29th of last year. I have since added to my doggie household another boy from Chestnut Kennels in New York. Another show future is in the works with this boy......we will see how high we can fly.
