I have always had a love for golden retrievers. I grew up in Virginia with our familys golden named Kelly who we rescued when he was six months old after the
family that owned him had a child that had an allergic reaction to him. We wanted to name him Jake, but he was already named, so we called him Kelly Jake. I moved to Maine in 1988 with my own
golden retriever named Jake Griffin. After we lost Jake at age 8, I waited 5 years, and then got another golden that we named Lucky Star Griffin. Lucky lived to be 12 when we
lost him to cancer, and I didn't think I could ever go through the loss of a golden again, and would not get another one. Well....10 months later, we got our golden that we have now named
Luckys Shadow Tek. We call him Tek after the Boston Red Sox former captain Jason Varitek. He is my shadow, and best buddy. I live in Scarborough, and I consider my dogs my
children!
